Description
The Blackmagic Video Assist 7'' 3G works as a rigged monitor, a professional recorder, a set of broadcast scopes, and a camera viewfinder all in one unit, aimed at shooters who want to upgrade an HDMI or SDI camera's recording quality and monitoring without a separate box for each function. Its 7-inch touchscreen replaces hunching over a small camera viewfinder with a comfortably positioned, rigged display, complete with focus peaking, zebras, and false color. Because it records in ProRes, Avid DNx, or Blackmagic RAW to industry-standard media, it works as a practical upgrade path for older broadcast cameras onto modern editing formats.
- Four built-in scopes: Waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, and histogram displays for accurate exposure and broadcast-standard compliance.
- Records ProRes, DNx, and Blackmagic RAW: Upgrades HDMI or SDI camera sources to professional recording formats on common media.
- 3D LUT support: Applies 17- or 33-point 3D LUTs for on-set monitoring, with the option to bake the look into Blackmagic RAW metadata.
- Multi-channel professional audio: Records 2, 4, 8, or 16 channels of SDI audio, plus 2 XLR inputs with phantom power at up to 192kHz/24-bit.
- Digital slate with auto-incrementing metadata: Automatically increments take and reel numbers as you record and format cards.
- Localized for 11 languages: Switches on-screen and video-output text between English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, German, and more.
