The Sony ECM-673/9X is a short super-cardioid shotgun microphone built for professional camcorders and location sound work, with a tight enough pickup pattern to isolate dialogue from ambient noise without the reach (or bulk) of a long shotgun. It's phantom powered and designed to mount directly on-camera or on a boom for ENG and documentary shooting.
