The Opticis 4-Fiber Detachable DVI Extension Module extends a DVI video connection over fiber optic cable well beyond the reach of standard copper DVI cabling. Its self-programming EDID feature is designed to simplify installation across variable-resolution display systems.

• Long-distance DVI extension: Extends the 4 optical data channels (Red, Green, Blue, and clock) up to 500 meters (1,640 ft) over LC duplex multi-mode fibers at WUXGA (1920x1200) 60Hz.
• Self-programming EDID: Reads and restores a display's EDID automatically when the transmitter is plugged in, simplifying setup across different displays.
• Optical transmission benefits: Fiber-based signal delivery avoids copper's length limitations, adds data security, and virtually eliminates RFI/EMI interference.
• Simple power setup: Most video cards power the transmitter module directly via +5VDC, while the receiver module uses an external power adapter; modules are clearly labeled to prevent reverse installation.
