The TAMRON 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A078) is a fast, constant-aperture zoom for full-frame mirrorless cameras that covers the four focal lengths portrait photographers reach for most — 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm — in a notably compact body. At just 119.2mm (4.7 in) long and 565g (19.9 oz), it is a lighter, more travel-friendly alternative to larger portrait zooms such as the 35-150mm.

The optical design uses 15 elements in 13 groups, including one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), two LD (Low Dispersion) and three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) elements to control chromatic aberration and hold sharpness across the zoom range. TAMRON’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor delivers fast, quiet and precise autofocus for capturing natural expressions as they happen.

A minimum object distance of 0.22m (8.7 in) at the wide end yields a 1:3.3 maximum magnification ratio, making it useful for detail and tabletop work in addition to portraiture.
