Description
The C-800 is a spectrometer rather than a standard color meter, reading virtually any light source — LED, flash, incandescent, HMI, fluorescent, or natural light — in 1nm increments across an 11-mode 4.3" color touchscreen. Its headline feature is Spectral Similarity Index (SSI), developed with the Academy's Sci-Tech Council, which lets you set any light as a reference standard and score other lights on how closely they'll match it, alongside TLCI, TLMF, TM-30-15, and traditional CRI. That combination makes it a practical on-set tool for matching mismatched light sources rather than just measuring a single fixture in isolation.
- 1nm spectral resolution: CMOS linear sensor measures 380-780nm, capturing color spikes from LED, HMI, and fluorescent sources.
- SSI, TLCI, TLMF, TM-30-15, and CRI: SSI lets you set any light (or CIE D55) as a reference and score other lights against it.
- Camera and lighting filter recommendations: displays actual Rosco, Lee, Kodak Wratten, or Fuji filter designations to hit a target color temperature.
- 1 to 200,000 lux ambient range: flash color analysis with selectable shutter speeds from 1 to 1/500 sec.
- 270° swivel head, 4.3" touchscreen: up to 99 stored measurements, fast single-handed button layout for on-set use.
