Description
The OptoLink Fiber Optic Multi-Format Converter takes legacy analog and digital video sources and gets them onto fiber for long-distance runs where copper cable or electrical isolation aren't options. It accepts DVI, VGA, component, S-Video, and composite inputs and converts whichever one is active into a single fiber DVI signal, useful for AV integrators consolidating mixed legacy sources onto one transmission path. It's built for installations — houses of worship, control rooms, campuses — where the video run is too long or too electrically noisy for a standard cable.
- Multi-format input: Accepts DVI, VGA, component video, S-Video, and composite video as inputs.
- Long-distance fiber transmission: Converts to 1 fiber DVI and drives uncompressed WUXGA (1920x1200) @ 60Hz up to 500 meters (1,640 feet) over a single SC multimode fiber.
- Automatic signal detection: Automatically detects the first active incoming signal, or follows a pre-programmed priority order among DVI, VGA, component, composite, and S-Video.
- Electrical isolation: Fiber transmission provides electrical isolation for long-haul runs where signal quality and ground loop prevention matter.
- Matched receiver: Pairs with the Opticis DVFX 100 R receiver to convert the signal back from optical to electrical DVI at the display end.
