The bright f/1.4 aperture and rugged Dragonfly build make it a workhorse rather than a fair-weather lens.

- Weather-Sealed, Rear-Focusing Design: A system of seals at key points plus a rear-focus mechanism that doesn't change the lens's length keeps dust and moisture out of the mirror chamber.
- Focus Lock Ring: Locks the focus ring at a set distance for zone-focusing or reliable infinity focus during landscape work.
- 86mm Filter Thread: Accepts standard screw-in filters, or square filters via the separately available Irix Edge IFH-100-PRO holder.
