Blackmagic Design Studio Fiber Converter
Blackmagic Design Studio Fiber Converter
Key Features
The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter sits at the studio or OB truck end of a broadcast camera fiber chain, converting a single SMPTE fiber cable back into the standard video, audio, talkback, and tally connections your switchers and intercoms expect. It carries a main Ultra HD camera feed plus three independent HD return feeds with full remote camera control, PTZ, tracker talkback, and Ethernet — all over one cable that can run up to 2km from the camera. Built-in safety monitoring instantly cuts power if a cable fault or earth leak is detected, protecting crew working near the fiber run.
- Single Cable, Full Camera Chain: Carries UHD camera feed, 3 HD returns, PTZ control, tracker talkback, tally, and Ethernet over one SMPTE fiber cable.
- Up to 2km Camera Distance: Powers and connects remote cameras far beyond standard SDI cable range.
- Dual Talkback Intercoms with Backup: Two dual-channel talkback connections plus a backup engineering channel if the fiber link drops.
- Automatic Power Safety Monitoring: Dedicated microcontrollers instantly cut power if a damaged cable or earth leak is detected.
- 5" Front Panel LCD: Monitors the incoming remote camera feed directly next to the SMPTE fiber connection.
- 12G-SDI, up to 2160p60: Supports all HD and Ultra HD formats for high-end broadcast production.
