The Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter sits at the studio or OB truck end of a broadcast camera fiber chain, converting a single SMPTE fiber cable back into the standard video, audio, talkback, and tally connections your switchers and intercoms expect. It carries a main Ultra HD camera feed plus three independent HD return feeds with full remote camera control, PTZ, tracker talkback, and Ethernet — all over one cable that can run up to 2km from the camera. Built-in safety monitoring instantly cuts power if a cable fault or earth leak is detected, protecting crew working near the fiber run.
