The Vmic5 packs a full-sized 5" interference tube into a compact mini-shotgun body, giving it the wider frequency response and off-axis rejection of a full XLR shotgun mic while using a simpler 3.5mm output. Its supercardioid pattern focuses on what's directly in front of the camera and rejects sound from the sides and rear, useful for run-and-gun shooting where you don't have time to fine-tune mic placement. A 3.5mm headphone output lets you monitor sound on cameras that lack a built-in headphone jack, and an internal 2000mAh battery runs up to 150 hours.
