NOVOFLEX cut the weight from the previous model's 265g down to 120g, making it a better fit for lighter compact camera systems where every gram on the tripod head matters. A "Safety Pin" prevents the plate from slipping in any direction once locked, though that specific safety feature only works with genuine NOVOFLEX Q=PLATEs — third-party Arca-compatible plates will mount, but without the pin engagement.
