Description
The Urth Infrared Filter Plus+ is a 720nm (R72) infrared pass filter. It blocks visible light below 720 nanometers so your camera records only infrared light, producing the classic surreal IR look: white, glowing foliage, near-black skies, and dreamlike contrast that is invisible to the naked eye.
The filter uses German SCHOTT B270 optical glass with Urth's 20-layer CoraNano coating, which repels water, oil, and fingerprints and makes cleaning easy. The slim 6061 aluminum frame helps avoid vignetting on wide-angle lenses, and the filter is covered by a lifetime warranty. Because it passes very little visible light, expect long exposures on a tripod, and note that results depend on your camera: bodies with a strong built-in IR-blocking sensor filter will need much longer exposures or may not be suitable, while IR-converted or older cameras respond best.
